This is a book about the top 100 most frequently-used orthopedic procedures at the Campbell Clinic of the University of Tennessee, as well as generally performed worldwide by orthopedic surgeons, both generalists and specialists. These surgical techniques are based on the 12th edition of Campbell’s Orthopedic Procedures.

The editors point out that only information about the procedures is given in this book, and indications, contraindications, outcomes, complications, and alternative treatments are not given in it.

Forty professors – all working at the University of Tennessee Campbell Clinic – contributed their knowledge and skills to this valuable collection of surgical know-how in orthopedics. The material is organized around a dozen sections, with a few sections having special focus on some parts of the human frame:

  • General
  • Hip Arthroplasty
  • Treatment of Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and Osteonecrosis
  • Knee Arthroplasty
  • Ankle Arthroplasty / Arthrodesis
  • Shoulder Arthroplasty
  • Elbow Arthroplasty
  • Spine
  • Sports Medicine
    • Patellofemoral Instability
    • Arthroscopic Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
    • Posterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
    • Achilles Tendon Rupture
    • Shoulder Instability
    • Biceps Tendon Rupture
    • Elbow
  • Trauma
    • Fractures
    • Compartment Syndrome
    • Fractures in Children
  • Hand and Wrist
  • Foot and Ankle
    • Local Anesthesia
    • Hallux Vagus

This book arose out of requests over the years for a collection in a single volume of the most popular procedures.

It is richly illustrated with mostly full-color drawings and photographs, accompanied by detailed step-by-step instructions on how to perform the surgical procedures. At the end of each chapter you will find a short section entitled Postoperative Care.
