This book was first conceived and developed by the late Dr. Frank Hinman Jr. In his Preface the author writes that among Dr. Hinman had these related reasons for coming out with this book:

This second edition has these improvements over the original edition by Dr. Hinman, namely:

  • Full-color photos of actual pathology specimens, something that is so rare or almost totally non-existent
