Book Review by: Nano Khilnani

This book is dedicated by the editors – Drs. Foad Nahai and Ted H. Wojno – to Sonny McCord who was a mentor for 15 years to both of them. They write in the Preface that Sonny showed them not only “how to do it better” but also how to make it safe, and prevent and take care of complications.

The editors point out that at Paces Plastic Surgery, McCord trained about 35 fellows and “equipped them well to not only feel comfortable around the eyelids, but also with the knowledge and skills to deal with untoward outcomes.”

They invited those fellows and residents, as well as others who were leaders in the field of oculoplastic surgery who were Sonny’s close friends to contribute to this book as a way of honoring and celebrating his long and productive career. The response was enthusiastic and this work is a collection of their contributions.

Forty-three specialists in ophthalmology and its different aspects – such as aesthetic surgery, cosmetic surgery, oculoplastic surgery, orbital surgery, plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and related fields  – from all over the United States and five other countries – Australia, Colombia, Germany, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom – authored or co-authored the42 chapters of this book that we list below to provide you an overview of its coverage:
